Come Take A Walk!
Stops Along The Trail
The Wetlands: this low-lying habitat supports plants and animals that thrive in moist or damp conditions – but it isn’t always wet! Our wetland only occasionally contains standing water, during periods of seasonal flooding.
|
The Highland: an area formed by glacial forces that produced tall rock outcroppings. The rocks are now covered by
many plants and trees, which creates a unique habitat for birds, insects and animals. |
The Garden: Newton South’s Sustainable Agriculture Project. The garden is maintained by students and focuses on community, economics and ecology. It is part of our school’s effort to
promote healthy local eating, composting, and sustainable gardening. |
The Aquaria: These three tanks feature living examples of three important local aquatic habitats: the NSHS Wetlands, Boston Harbor, and the Charles River.
