A Global Student, Emma Geller, went to Costa Rica this past summer on a service trip with the GLA Program. There, she was able to work on a reforestation station in the dry forest of Guanacaste, as well as explore the rainforest. Reforesting plays a huge role in increasing habitat stability both in Costa Rica and even locally in New England. She learned of tactics to incorporate the community in preserving the environment around them. Many Costa Ricans were passionate about the land and animals, and felt they were very much a part of their larger family. Here are some of the pictures accumulated from her trip.
